Devinci Releases New Electric Mountain Bikes e-Troy and e-Spartan

Devinci is back with a new electric bike, and in addition to the oversized 725Wh battery, the new model brings a slew of upgrades. The new e-Troy and e-Spartan replace the previous DC and AC models respectively, giving Devinci’s electric assist product line a richer name.

new battery

The battery is one of the core components of an electric bike, and one of the biggest changes in the new model is a removable 725Wh battery tucked into the down tube. Devinci claims that the new battery uses the latest 21700 lithium battery, which can bring a 30% increase in energy compared to the old one. Depending on the user’s riding style, a single charge can support up to 135km of riding range.

When charging, the user can connect the interface on the riser through the 4A supercharger, which is located just above the motor. With a powerful charger, it takes about 2 hours to charge a depleted battery to 80%.

Both models use a Shimano EP8 motor that delivers 85Nm of torque. The handlebar is equipped with Shimano’s display and control module, and the lever on the left allows the user to quickly switch between the four assist modes of Boost, Trail, Eco and Walk without taking the hand off the handlebar.

Frame Details

The e-Troy and e-Spartan frames are made of 6061-T6 aluminum alloy, with a rear shock structure optimized for electric assist models, and Enduro’s bearings with dual-lip sealing technology make every part smooth run. The rear fork of the frame uses a 148x12mm Boost thru-axle specification to accommodate wider tires.

In addition, the frame also supports internal cable routing, built-in chain guide and SRAM UDH universal rear derailleur hanger. There are also frame and motor guards at the battery installation port to further protect the vehicle.

e-Troy

The e-Troy is the smaller of the new models, with 150mm of rear shock travel, paired with a Fox 38 shock fork with 160mm of travel. Devinci says the e-Troy’s construction allows for more room for a water bottle and shock compared to the DC model.

The e-Troy is available in four sizes, S, M, L, and XL. It uses 29-inch wheels and can accommodate tires up to 29×2.6.

e-Spartan

The rear shock travel of the e-Spartan frame reaches 170mm, and the Fox 38 front fork with 180mm travel can bring users a more exciting downhill experience.

The e-Spartan is also available in four sizes, S, M, L, and XL. It uses 29-inch wheels and can accommodate a maximum of 29×2.6 tires.
